We have just given one user in our local area network a brand new laptop
with Windows XP Professional. We are trying to setup two offline file synchronization for her. One is for her home directory, which is her H drive, and the other one is I drive. Both H and I drive are phyically located on te same Windows 2003 Server. We have a logon script that creates the mapping when she logs on to her computer. There is a difference between the H and I drive synchronization. The difference is: - For the H drive, she synchronize to the whole drive and has Full Access to the whole drive including all the folders, subfolders, and files in it - For the I drive, she synchronize only to one folder (lets call it folder A) in the root of I drive. She has Read and List Folder Content access to the I drive, and Full Access to folder A and all of its subfolders and files, but no access to other folders in the root of I drive. The following are the issues that we are having: - When she turns off her laptop and turn it back on, the first time she logs on, she cannot not see both the H and I drives. If she just logs off from Windows XP (instead of turning off the laptop), the next time she logs on, she is able to see both drives. - The synchronization only works for H drive, but not I drive. I have searched everywhere for answers, and I have tried different things (clearing dns cache, delete computer name from DNS, intall a different network card, connecting the laptop to different switches and hubs, disabling media sensing in Windows XP). Any help would really be appreciated. TIA, Alex |
