New Notebook, trying to add Windows FAX. Start install and
message comes up that unable to install any of the 31 files eg> FXxxxxx.dl_ or FXxxxxx.ex_ that reside in c:/windows/i386. The files are there yet windows says that it cannot install and wants me to provide the Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 CD. The problem is that Gateway doesn't supply the CD - only a collecion of 4 Restore CD's on which I can't find the files either. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. PS: Please don't ask me to contact Gateway - they think that they have supplied enough and tell me, consistantly, to go through the restore process and re-install everying. I doubt that would do anything since it would re-install what is currently on the computer which doesn't work. Thanks |

Ask Gateway for what you can do here - or get a third-party software for that purpose. |
