I Can't turn on automatic update on my windows XP home edition computer. When
I try I keep getting Error 1058. Can anyone tell me what settings I need to check and how to access them to enable me to turn on windows automatic update? -- Tim. |

See if this helps: "You cannot manually start the Automatic Updates service and you receive an "Error 1058" error message on a computer that is running Windows XP or Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=896224). |
