While logged in (XP Pro) as an user running Notepad, Firefox or any other
application, I can’t run the same application (at the same time) via “run as”, as another user/admin. All users except the admin is "limited users" and sometimes you do not want to logout and login as another user/admin just to run one command/appliation. What happens is that the application starts with the same credentials as the current logged in user! It doesn’t matter what user I have used for the "run as" authentication (admin or user). If the current loged in user is not running the application, the "run as" runs as expected, and the stared application run with the credentials of the user used in the "run as" authentication. I have tried both the “run as” meny-option and the “runas” cmd command. Does anyone know if this is an XP limitation, or if there is a way to change this behaviour? |
