We have two pieces of software here that require dongles, one
(MacPlasMap - a microbial plasmid mapping program) is a single user
license and will not run unless the dongle is physically connected to
that machine, the software can be installed on other machine but is
usless without the dongle and the dongle cannot be shared over the
network.

The other piece of software is Sequencher (a DNA sequence analysis
package) this is a three user network licence, the dongle resides on
one machine and the software on about thirty others, when you wish to
use Sequencher it checks with the dongle to see how many other people
are using it concurrently, and if there are fewer then three permission
is granted to use the software, if the three licenses are in use you
can use the software in demo mode where you cannot save or print your
work.

Read your license conditions, you will probably find that the software
can only be used on the machine that the dongle is attached to, if that
is the case you probably can have the software installed on other
machine and move the dongle from machine to machine.
