Hi Cherie,
When you say administrator user account, are you referring to the hidden administrator account accessible via Safe Mode? -- Regards, Bert Kinney MS-MVP Shell/User http://bertk.mvps.org Cherie wrote: > I have forgotten the password to my administrator user > account for Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 (and > did not create a password hint), so I have lost access to > my main files. Rather than doing a reinstall, or purchasing software, and if booting into Safe Mode and logging in as Administrator with a blank password doesn't work: Google the term "john the ripper". Download and run it, being very careful to follow instructions. You'll be able to change the Administrator password with it. -- The reader should exercise normal caution and backup the Registry and data files regularly, and especially before making any changes to their PC, as well as performing regular virus and spyware scans.
