It depends on how it is created. Some screensavers come with their own installer and some are simply a .scr file. Either way, the screensavers ..scr file must be placed in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. Once placed there, it will appear in the screensaver list.

Hey Ronnie:

Thanks so much for your reply and help. Well I tried that and downloaded it
to System 32 folder folder as you suggested but it still didn't appear in
screensaver
list. There must be one other step after that I'm missing

Just a thought:

I just did a search and two of mine (that are listed) are just in the C:\Windows
folder.
The rest of them are in the C:\Windows\System32 folder.

Make sure you have read any instructions on the website you downloaded the file from. Some screensavers require supporting files to be present on the system.

You can post the address of the website here and which screensaver you are downloading so we can take a look at it.

Hey Ronnie:

Thanks again, you have been very helpful and I appreciate it very much. This
is the link to the website. Toward the top there is a link to the websites
wallpapers and screensavers. The one I wanted was the black/multicolored logo
screensaver.I was able to download it succesfully before but forget how I did
it. I recently had my computer updated and cleaned and was just trying to
download it again.

This screensaver has an installer. Download the .exe file and then double click the downloaded file to install the screensaver. It will place the .scr file in the System32 folder and it will then be available in the screensaver list.
