We have a folder called: 300 Structural Steel
We would like to reduce the folder to be called: 300 Is there a way to add a comment/description field to a folder so the comment would say: Structural Steel ....but the folder name would only be: 300 ? I know you can add a comment when sharing a directory. Only problem with that (that I can see) is you need to add the comment from the share properties on the network computer. The user at his/her computer will not be able to do that I believe? Thanks for any help |

Folder comments are not supported in XP except as a compatability thing (ie folder comments set by older versions show in XP).
Older versions set the folder to Read Only or System and put a file called Desktop.ini with the following lines. 1. You can create a link to that folder - name the link whatever you want,
or 2. Change that folder default icon to some icon that says whatever you want. Not exactly what you need, but might be useful.
