Use your brain. Look at the name of the program abuser of the commons.

I didn't really enjoy wasting hours reading the exif specification for you either. You couldn't even say thank you.

Default Re: Convert audio files

David Candy,
Please explain yourself.

You know what you are talking about but I don't.

How do I read this sentence:
Look at the name of the program abuser of the commons.

Are you asking me to look at the name of the program Sound Recorder. Yes, it
says it records sound.
You also said: Use Sound Recorder and play the mid file
I interpreted this as meaning that Sound Recorder will play (and record) a
..mid file

I assume that the words "abuser of the commons" are a abusive form of
address to me. Well that's OK if it gives you some pleasure. But this is
also difficult to understand. I thought a newsgroup was a forum for persons
seeking help. If to use it is abuse, then it defeats its purpose.

I don't know why you spent hours reading the exif specification.
In particular, I do not not know:
Where this specification is
What relevance it has
What information you obtained
If I knew this, I could read it also and see whether it helps me

David, I will certainly say thank you when I get some information that is
meaningful.

PS. Are there any readers out there who can add to my knowldege of what is
being said, or express an opinion as to whether I am stupid, being abusive
or wasting/misusing the newsgroup's time.

I would be interested to know what a complete newcomer would make of this
interchange.

Perhaps it should have been worded differently.

I would be helpful if you understood that MIDI is not audio, but it isn't
necessary here.

Windows Media Player will play a .MID file.
Launch Sound Recorder and start it recording. Use the Media Player to play
the .MID file.

There is a "known" extension which will let you configure which player is to
be used, based on audio type. Check for MediaPlayerConectivity.
