When I use Add Scheduled Task, the wizard takes about 90 seconds to
display the list of programs. What is the 'norm'? I suspect this may be somehow connected with the separate problem I posted last night 'Scheduled Tasks - won't keep the password', but maybe not. Could both issues somehow be due to some problem with my User Account? I currently boot straight to desktop (set TweakUI to do that). I am the sole user, with administrator rights. This is an OEM XP Home SP1 PC, and I've never come across a need for an 'Administrator' password before. (In fact, when I had urgent need for 'Recovery' at one time, I seemed to be being *asked* for a password, and nothing - Enter/Tab/Esc/etc - would work. Somehow though after several attempts, I *did* get to a 'DOS' prompt and was able to proceed. I mention all this just in case it offers any clues to why my Scheduled Tasks have stopped working. It has always been a black art to me, and suspect it always will <g>. -- Terry, West Sussex, UK |
