My icon goes off

I am using winxp media center sp2, my machine has dual boot
option(second one
is Server 2003), I generally use XP. I dnt know what happen to machine
when I
start my machine using xp, it get start & I get all the desktop Icons
there
after a few seconds all the items goes off, I can use onle ctrl+alt+del
key
only but unable to recover my start menu & desktop items.
Plz help me to get rid off this problem, in the safe mode everthing is
ok.....

Hey Himanshu,

Looks like something is killing ur explorer.exe.

After the icons vanish, do u see explorer.exe in the processes tab of
task manager??
Have you checked if this happens in safemode also??
I can't be sure but looks like u might be able to fix this by doing a
spyware and virus scan.
