I'm Desktop Support at our company. Our HR dept uses one laptop to test
potential new hires. The laptop is running WinXP/Office2K3. Months ago, our busy System Admin created a restricted network test account that won't allow the user to 'right-click' the desktop and select any computer options (ie, Graphic Modes, Properties, etc.) as well as any 'Taskbar' settings. The 'Programs' Menu and 'Run' command are removed. But the local profile launches preset two seperate preset websites, MS Word & Excel (Startup Folder). They want to use a second laptop with the same settings/config. The main laptop is a Dell Latitude D610. The second laptop is a Dell Latitude D600. I'm trying copy the profile from one laptop to another. Is this possible. There aren't any IE app icons to select 'Run As' an admin account on the testing account desktop. I've went to the Main laptops Documents & Settings and tried to copy the testing account folder (as an admin) up to the network and down into the second laptop Docs & Settings location. But the webpages and apps won't launch. Files and Settings Transfer Wizard won't work because the testing account doesn't allow this feature to run. How can I duplicate this account's desktop setting on another laptop form-factor? |
