Default menu extensions on internet explorer

after security updates, menu extensions for internet explorer vanished.
There were two extensions in the CULM registry:
1 export as excel using excel XP
res://C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\EXCEL.EXE/3000
with Contexts of 1
2. copy selected as html
file://C:\Utils\Script-secured\CopyAsHtml.js

What can I do to re-enable them?

pardon me, are you trying to help me get better response?

I know the problem , I think know the method of making internet explorer
menu extensions (including scripts, registry entry) I have verified those
aspects. however, the menu extensions, no longer appear. Prior to security
updates, I could use key under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\MenuExt to add menu extensions

Current Documentation from ms seems to point towards HKLM. Is this the only
way and HKCU gets ignore for menu extension?

I was trying to get some more info without having to ask for it. But that
didn't work.

I am supposed to know what CULM registry means? Current User Local Machine?

HKCR, HKCU, HKLM, HKU or HKCC

If something is in HKEY_CURRENT_USER it applies to the logged on user only.

If something is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE it applies machine wide. It doesn't
matter who is logged on.

That something could be in either or both hives.

Anything in HKEY_USERS\SID# will be the same as what's in HKEY_CURRENT_USER
with that user logged on.

> after security updates, menu extensions for internet explorer vanished.

Vanished from where??? Right click context menu?? File menu??

Neither one of these is standard for IE. *You* added them.

Copy as HTML to clipboard from Internet Explorer - The Code Project -
JavaScript
http://www.codeproject.com/jscript/CopyasHTML.asp

WL Query Help - Export as Excel File
http://www.elp.gov.bc.ca:8000/wat/wr...elp/export.htm

Anything you add here will apply to only you.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt

Anything you add here will apply to whomever is logged on.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt

Sorry, I may have found the problem, the context in the registry may have
been corrupted. I will try fix that first.

thanks

unfortunately, it does not even appear there. The registry entry is there
E&xport to Microsoft Excel
default=res://C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~1\OFFICE11\EXCEL.EXE/3000
Contexts=1
Hmmm, could it be office 2003 does not work like office XP?

Or cuold it be some group policy?

BTW no extended menu under File nor context menus. I even look at tool on
the outside chance it may have been moved.
BTW The Internet explorer is of Version 6

Default Re: menu extensions on internet explorer

thanks for the info. The extension did not show up neither context nor file
menu.

However, somehow, now I got the copy as html ext showing up in context menu
and working
As for export to Microsoft excel, it is supposed to be using Microsoft
component
res://C:\Progra~1\MicrosoftOfcXP\Office10\EXCEL.EXE/3000
