History: In a previous windows installation, I had a shortcut to a file
folder which I placed in the Start Menu (the shortcuts that stay there all the time). I upgraded to Windows XP MCE 2005 and brought all my old settings (from XP Professional) via the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard (FSTW). Problem: The folder shortcut came along too, but now I don't want it anymore and I cannot delete it. Attempted solutions: -Right clicking and choosing "remove from list" does not get rid of it. It juts does nothing with no errors or anything. -It doesn't show up when exploring or opening the start menu folder. Question: Is there some registry key I can delete or some way to rebuild the start menu shortcuts or something I can do to get rid of it? Thanks to anyone who can help. |

okay so fortunately I still had my old windows installation on a
different partition so i booted to that, deleted the shortcut and redid the whole FSTW thing and that worked. stupid solution for a little bug. |
