I'm trying to help with a question posed that someone wants to shave a
second or two off the clear MRU list at Rt. Click Start>Properties>Start Menu>Advanced Clear List. They say it takes 9 seconds; they want two Is there a reg value to change that would do this or another way? Anything in a value for this key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\ RunMRU] Tia, Chad Harris. |

I use the Classic Start Menu.
Right click the Start button | R + C + C Practice, you'll get faster. Nine seconds? No way. Three or four seconds is more like it. -- Hope this helps. Let us know. I don't think the problem is getting to the button itself. On many of my machines, I can click Clear, and the system remains unresponsive (hourglass, etc) for as long as 30 seconds, even if the MRU menu was practically empty before trying to clear it. I'm assuming that's what Chad is complaining about...if so, I'm totally with him and looking for alternative ways to clear the MRU menu... |
