I have an HP laptop, and when I start XP (Pro) after displaying my bootskin,
but before the Welcome screen, I always see the same, ugly image on the screen; a big HP-made background, displayed the same way as if you were to lock the computer and it would display the background you had and a login box. I've already tried logging in as administrator (the same culprit image was the background for that profile) and changing the background, but as soon as I logged off Administator, the darned thing came back. Any suggestions? |

Check the BIOS to see if there is a listing for the HP logo.
