Default office 10 rejected safe mode action

My computer locks up after I did the Windows Update for the first time and
installed all the new security things. I am using sp2. I get this error in
my event viewer:

office 10 rejected safe mode action

Google is no help. Any thoughts?

What is the exact error in your Event Log?
You may try this solution:

(Ignore the OS version, etc.)

I did try that, thanks, but there is no "resilency" in my registry anywhere.
Also, I did not install Outlook. This happens when I am using MS Word, but I
don't think it matters which program I am using. This is an Office thingie
as far as I can tell and according to what I have read in Google.
