I'm using Windows XP for the first time, and I've noticed that there is no
Administrative Tools folder showing up. Is there a trick to exposing it? If not, what are the instructions for bringing up each of the applications that normally reside in that folder? -- Will |

Will Boss, let's hope the OP can read. Right in the middle of the page
the link takes you to, hi-lighted in blue: "If the Administrative Tools folder itself is missing (not just the shortcuts) in the Start Menu, you will need to enable any of these two options under Taskbar and Start Menu options applet in the Control Panel: Display on the All Programs menu or Display on the All Programs menu and the Start menu." Hi Boss Hog
The link I provided, catered for the Administrative Tools folder being empty or missing. http://windowsxp.mvps.org/admintools.htm <snip> When you open the Administrative Tools folder in the Start Menu, the shortcuts/items may be missing. There are two possible causes for this problem: The Shell Folders path for "Common Administrative Tools" is incorrectly set. The Administrative Tools shortcut files are deleted accidentally If the Administrative Tools folder itself is missing (not just the shortcuts) in the Start Menu, you will need to enable any of these two options under Taskbar and Start Menu options applet in the Control Panel: Display on the All Programs menu or Display on the All Programs menu and the Start menu. <snip> -- =========================== TaurArian [MS-MVP] 2005-2006 =========================== Boss Hog wrote: > On Mon, 2 Jan 2006 12:27:57 +1100, "TaurArian [MS-MVP]" > <taurarianREMOVECAPS@gmail.com> wrote: > >> Administrative Tools folder is empty.... > > ...is not what he meant. |
