In Explorer, when dragging the mouse to select multiple files, a blue
(though I suppose the colour depends on the desktop settings) rectangle is drawn, stretching and shrinking as the mouse moves. However, this makes my computer very slow. In earlier versions (and still on the desktop) this is just a dotted outline, which is a lot faster. Does someone know how to customize explorer so that it will use the dotted line instead of the blue rectangle? TIA zero -- Beware the False Authority Syndrome |

Try this.
Right click Desktop | Properties | Appearance tab | Effects button| UNCheck: Show window contents while dragging Show window contents while dragging [[Specifies whether to display window contents as you move or size it. When this check box is cleared, you can see only the outline when you move a window.]] -- Hope this helps. Let us know. They use MS technology. While faster than MS it is still hopeless. Apart from google and newspapers (they seem to get it right in every country) I can't think of any other large company that can serve up data driven, content managed web pages.
