Default Re: Dungeon Siege 2: sound problems in video

Hi Jimmy,

as i said before my soundcard is soundblaster live! 5.1.
The card is not mentioned in the readme-file.
And as i said before - in the game and in INGame-Videos the sound is ok,
only in game
videos (like the intro) there are sound problems.
I have the latest sound-drivers - i even checked and reinstalled them.
And i have reinstalled the game itself.
Doesn't solve the problem.
Any other suggestions?

Mirko

Hi Mirko,

I'm going to step aside so others can participate since we
don't seem to be making progress despite our best efforts.

If nobody comes forward with ideas that haven't been tried,
you might want to contact (PSS) Microsoft Support directly. :-)

If the in-game videos are ok (and I assume they have the same format as
the intro one) then I think you can safely assume that the file(s) are
corrupt. Have you got a friend nearby with a working game? If so, try to
copy the movie files from him.

Just checked the directory list that you sent in an earlier posting. It
seems the Miles Sound System (MSS) is part of it. Have a look in options
when you start the game for sound options and see if you can choose a
different sound provider.

Hi Jimmy,

thanks for your help and time so far.

Hi Thomas,

thanks for your reply. But the INGame-Videos are different from the other
"real"
videos, because the ingame-videos ar made with the 3d-game-engine - the
other videos (like the intro) are made with real-video-tools (i think bink
video).
So the files are not corrupt. Have you other ideas whats wrong?
