When I try to play my Sims Mega Deluxe, it acts as if it is loading then it
takes me right back to my desktop, no error message or anything. I have looked at a few things and the game requires CPU Spedd 366 Mhz, but it says my computer is at -1323 MHz. I don't understand what that means or how to change it. This is a fairly new computer, with plenty of memory and dual processors. And I have played this very same game on it before. I'm pretty sure all my drivers are up to date. |

Link to Sims BBS on Maxis's web site: http://thesims.ea.com/us/index.html?...tent=/us/chat/ Someone there might be able to help. Also you might find a clue by: Note the time when that application shuts down. In Control Panel open Administrative Tools then Event Viewer. Click the System icon in the Event Viewer's left pane. Look for an item in Event Viewer's right pane corresponding to time when the application shut down. If you find one, right click the listing and click Properties on the context menu. the new pop-up may describe what happened and provide a link to further information. While the latest drivers are usually best, on rare occasions a slightly older one works better. Sometimes analyzing what applications have been installed or updated since the last time an application worked reveals a clue. Sometimes you need to post SPECIFIC hardware and driver information so others with similar components can compare their configuration to yours. This information can be copied to your posting from the log file generated by the DirectX diagnostic. After selecting "Run" from the start menu type "dxdiag" in the pop-up. run the sound and video accelerator tests before clicking the "Save Infomation" button to generate the log file. Use the Windows clipboard to copy and paste the information from the log file to the posting. |
