Try this:
Goto Start | Settings | Control Panel, then firewall, then turn off firewall alternatively, if you cannot find Settings in the start menu, then look for control panel. right click on my computer, click on properties, look for advanced tab. Under preformance, click settings, then find the Data Execution Prevention tab, If the second option is selected (DEP for all, except.....), then see if the game installer or executable is in the DEP block list. Default is the first option is selected (essential windows stuff only). check ur comp for viruses if the above dosent work, First thing would be to try and remove SP2. If the SP2 uninstaller dosent or does not want to work, then try a sys restore to a point before SP2 (this is dependent on how long and how much ur system has changed since SP2 install). Last resort - not recommended (this is what I had to do) backup ur PC, format, install windows and then SP2, and then all your programs.
