I've installed AoE III without any problem but the game won't launch (or
rather in over thirty attempts it has started twice!) I see the egg timer for a few seconds but otherwise nothing and then eventual an error box flashes up which says Script Exception Win32StubLib (window title) Error Code: 12 TR_Decrypt: Failed to get transaction encryption key Param 1: 0 Param 2: 24 (I've seen different numbers here) I have AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2000+ 1.7 GHz, 1Gb RAM, nVidia GeForce3 Ti200, DirectX 9.0c and msxml 4(sp2) Any ideas? |

Hi redCaptain,
That error reminds me of a similar case I ran across when DS was released. The root cause of the issue was the the person was trying to play the game using a limited user account. Try using an Administrator account instead. -- Cheers, *Windows_XP_MVP_Shell/User* Jimmy S. http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Visit my MSN Zone.com and Gaming Help Site: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits MS Games Help and Support Center: http://support.microsoft.com/?pr=gms My advice is donated "AS IS" without warranty; nor do I confer any rights. __________________________________________________ _______ redCaptain Wrote: ================= | I've installed AoE III without any problem but the game won't launch (or | rather in over thirty attempts it has started twice!) No joy!
I was using an Administrator account. But, based on your suggestion I reinstalled leaving the "Install for All Users" checked to see if that made a difference but it didn't. Thanks for the response anyway!
