I have run all kinds of spywaye, adware and fix programs to try and fix any .dll problems but nothing is working. thanx in advance -- Mark |

Hi MadMark,
If you upgraded your existing Windows Me installation, you're risking having more issues down the road. You're best off reformating and performing a clean install of Windows XP. The installer will prompt you for your Windows Me retail CD during the installation process. According to this article, EQ has had compatibility issues with XP which requires a patch from Sony to resolve: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323560 -- Cheers, *Windows_XP_MVP_Shell/User* Jimmy S. http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Visit my MSN Zone.com and Gaming Help Site: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits MS Games Help and Support Center: http://support.microsoft.com/?pr=gms My advice is donated "AS IS" without warranty; nor do I confer any rights. __________________________________________________ _______ MadMark Wrote: ================= | OK, I'm very slow in getting with new technology but I just upgraded my | Windows Me to Windows XP and now when I try to run Everquest I get the | message "procedure entry point MakeCritacalSectionGlobal could not be located | in Kernal32.dll". oh please anyone, help me, i really miss my eq game. Hi MadMark,
Let's try a more confortable solution then. :-) Reinstall your Everquest game and apply the updates available from SONY. If you continue to experience the same error, please post back to follow-up. -- Cheers, *Windows_XP_MVP_Shell/User* Jimmy S. http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Visit my MSN Zone.com and Gaming Help Site: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits MS Games Help and Support Center: http://support.microsoft.com/?pr=gms My advice is donated "AS IS" without warranty; nor do I confer any rights. __________________________________________________ _______ MadMark Wrote: ================= | OMG u gots to be kidding, reformat and reinstall?? ur looking at a 50 y/o | novice here..why can't this be a simpler solution? what else can I possibly | do?
