I replaced my hd using Western Digital formatting tools. It automatically
copied data and made the new drive bootable and the old one not bootable. BUT...I messed it up somehow. Now all of my pictures and data files from the old drive are on both drives, but can't be read. They aren't blank, they have file sizes. I also couldn't open my old Outlook .pst files. the error says "access is denied" for both instances. Ok, i'm an idiot for not backing up, but this was supposed to go smoothly.:/ Some of the XP accts on the old drive had passwords, could that have something to do with it? How can I unlock all this stuff? TIA! |

Thank You! The second link was the one I used.. The first refers to
Professional and I have XP Home. I'm so glad you included both. I got all my photos back! Yay!! I still can't open the older Outlook, but I hotsync'd with my handheld and got back most of it. Thank you so much for your time.
