Default Recycle Bin properties

XP SP2
When deleting files they are immediately deleted with no opportunity to
restore them from the recycle bin.

The property dialogue has the delete immediately box cleared.
The registry key for the bin:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/BitBucket/NukeOnDelete
is set to 0 for all drives

The key will toggle from 0 to 1 when I change the property dialogue box so I
know that function is working.

Any thoughts on how I can get the recycle bin to hold deleted files so I
recover them if necessary?

Gman, check at Kelly's. http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm
Select R and scroll to Recycle Bin.
