Default Windows could not start

Hello all,
I was updating my video drivers and I've done something wrong because I now
get the mesage

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
system32\drivers\nvcchflt.sys

I've got some files from my manufacturer and gone into windows recovery
console to repair, but I try to copy the files from A: to
C:\windows\system32\drivers, I get the message Access is denied.

Also the console starts in C:\ I thought it was meant to be C:\windows and
when I type Dir at the C:\ prompt, I get the message
There is no floppy disk or CD in the drive.

Thanks for any help.

No, neither of them work.
I just get the same message about the missing or corrupt file.

And from windows recovery console I can't seem to do anything either?

Try and go into Safe Mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as the
computer is starting up. This will get you to the right menu. Navigate
using your Up arrow key; the mouse will not work here. Once in Safe
Mode, you can roll back your video drivers.

The PC will not start in safe mode, because of the missing file

If the computer will not start in Safe Mode or Last Known Good
Configuration (and if you haven't tried LKGC do so), then do a Repair
Install.

Why did you decide to update your video drivers?
