I need to get a printer driver for xp pro. Somehow we uninstalled it and now the new hardware wiz says can't find the driver for this device even though we are installing the printer from a cd. Thanks in advance -- fosgood11 Posted via http://ms-os.com Forum to Usenet gateway |

Uninstalled what - the printer or the driver? What happens when you install from cd? Any error messages? And finally - the first place to look for drivers and tech support for a device is on the device mftr.'s website; i.e., the printer mftr.'s website for your specific model printer. Thanks in advance Go to the printer makers website and download the drivers for your model. Then install them. -- http://www.bootdisk.com/ |

If it's a CD that came with the printer and it pops up a screen when you
install it then use the "Install Driver" option from there and ignore the Windows "Found new Hardware" Wizard. In any case the driver has probably been updated to find the printer manufacturer's website and look for a driver package from there... it's usually found under their "Support" menu, but since you don't mention the printer make and model we can't help with the site details.
