RE: Timed Standby no longer works after IIS install

I have continued to work on this. I removed IIS and it still would not go
into timed standby. Read the MS KB about how to clean boot a system to ID
problem drivers, so I executed part of that procedure by disabling everything
on the startup tab in MSCONFIG. Thiings like ActiveSync, Norton ccApp,
onboard sound controls, packet writing (InCd), ATI video card app, MS
AntiSpyware.

After disabling all of these, timed standby works. Some of these sneaky
programs check their box again automatically, if you start them manually, so
I lam etting a few run to see if problems re-occur. Will turn onothers one by
one to see what happens.
