I am unable to install/reinstall itunes/quicktime. I was able to use
itunes untill a few days ago but am unsure what has changed since then.
I think I do recall installing quicktime alternative, which I have
already uninstalled.

The itunes portion installs without issue. I get the following message
when QuickTime tries to load"QuickTime Installation Failed" "Error
Code -3".

I have tried to delete the contents of the Temp directory without
sucess.

Any help would be appreciated.

Contact the Author of the program you are having problems with.

Try to re-download the whole iTunes/Quicktime package, it could be a
corrupted download. I would sometimes have the same problem.

Plato's short but concise answer helped me resolve the issue. Apple had
a list of troubleshooting steps that I did not complete prior to
posting here.

I downloaded a installer utility cleanup from MS. I then installed
Quicktime as a standalone. BTW Itunes would not open as QT was corrupt
and could not be installed. Quicktime was the app that was giving me
issue on the install.
