I'll remember that the next time I uninstall 3 programs and Win Doctor has me
manually delete 6 dozen shortcuts that lost their targets. Then all those Active
X things Norton Win Doctor takes care of, manually.
C'mon, what other program can help me do stuff like that?

Using a program to help is fine - but never accept what it says without
checking!
As an example - running WinDoctor on a system with AOL installed will (try
to) remove a number of things which are essential for AOL to run.
Fortunately, it appears that AOL self-heals on a restart and replaced the
removed items.
