This accomplishes the exact same thing: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer] "ClearRecentDocsOnExit"=dword:00000001 It can be copied into Notepad, saved as a .reg file and run without any danger or risk at all.
