Default Spontaneous PC Restart

Hello. I am having a PC problem where the system shuts down and restarts
spontaneously. This problem started happening after I downloaded the Intel
Application Accelerator for Intel Chipset 845 from Intel's website as per PC
Pitsop recommendation to improve the performance of my hard drives. I was
experiencing very poor performance of my hard drives, and dowloading the
Intel Application Accelerator fixed it. Now I have this new problem of a
spontaneously restarting PC. After a reboot, I do receive an error from
Windows (see following from Microsoft Online Crash Analysis):

Thank you for submitting an error report.

Problem description

Thank you for submitting an error report. The error was likely caused by an
interaction between Windows and the following:

Intel Storage Driver

More information

Intel Storage Driver was created by Intel® Corporation. At this time, no
information is available regarding the problem that you encountered.

Also, I'm thinking I might have a virus that's causing my PC to restart.
When I use Trend Micro PC-cillin 2006 to scan for viruses, the PC restarts in
the middle of the scan!

Can anyone please diagnose and help me fix this problem? It's annoying
because I like to keep my PC on all the time with applications running.

This is the error code I get from the PC:

Some details about your error message:
http://snipurl.com/4vhx

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties. Hardware,
Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

What make and model is your hard drive?

This freeware programme is excellent for getting information about your
computer:
Everest Home Edition (freeware)
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html

Tip: To copy select Report, Quick Report, Plain Text, highlight required
text, right click and select copy. However, whilst this is fine for
posting small amounts of information into newsgroup messages
longer reports will irritate other newsgroup subscribers.

Hope this helps.

Assuming as in the article states, it may be the ONBOARD ide controller, how
to fix?
It works in slower, pio mode obviously.
The most obvious culprit would be a marginal power supply on the +5V leg in
my opinion.

Collect damages from Pitstop. Why did you try to fix what wasn't broken
anyway?
