Home over Christmas break and working on my thesis. I was typing up some
data and put it in Quattro Pro. I get back to my house and realizes that my computer has Works Spreadsheet only. Is there anyway I can convert these two? Please help!!! Lot of data. I couldn't have lost it. |

Lot of data. I couldn't have lost it. A newsgroup dealing with Quattro Pro would be a far more appropriate place for this type of post, except for your last remark: If you're concerned about losing your thesis files then you appear to belong to the class of PC users who enjoy being punished. Assuming that you put your best effort (and a lot of original thought) into your thesis, what's preventing you from buying an external hard disk in a USB case and backing up your precious thesis every night? It's cheap! Some people wait with their backup until they lose the lot. It's a very painful way of learning this basic lesson: All important files must be backed up to an independent medium at regular intervals. Time to think . . . |

I hope that your thesis is more detailed than your question.
What version of Quattro Pro? There are converters that let Excel open pre Quattro Pro 9 spreadsheets. Works does not have a converter. How can you lose your data? Just because it is in a data format that you can't open on your computer doesn't mean that it is lost. What media are you using to transport your data? CD, flash drive, memory stick -- Ron Sommer "SMB" <SMB@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:115C88C5-0A9E-4349-B8A9-065266B85560@microsoft.com... > Home over Christmas break and working on my thesis. Lot of data. I couldn't have lost it. Google for a solution. You have heard of Google haven't you? This is not a XP topic, so Google would have been your first choice. Try Open Office, I think it has a Quattro Pro converter and it is a free download. Also Corel since it is the companies product would be a good bet for help. I also tried single sheet (single page) sheets, to no avail. Error opening file. Do search on google for a good converter. I use quattro pro 9 from an OE version given to me by a teacher. I do several simple and complex spreadsheets, and am amazed that there's no way to calculate a discount based on a percentage value, given a subtotal. Will check with corel group on this. |
