Default monitor shutoff

I had my display setting set to shut my monitor off after 45 mins. we got
a new one at Christmas and I notice that it doesn't seem to work any more
(to be honest I don't remember off hand if it was working that way on the
other one). One thing it DOES do (that it didn't with the other monitor)
is after the screen saver is on, it will automatically turn the screen back
on, which stays on for the 2 mins. I have set then goes back to the screen
saver. Why won't the screen saver just stay on and the monitor just shut
down.

Thanks

Default Re: monitor shutoff

Ok, let me say this after sitting here and watching it.........

I have it set to go to the screen saver after 2mins....which it does. Then
I had set it to go to monitor shutoff (via the
properties/display/screensaver tab) well after the 5 mins is when the
screen/desktop would show up. Instead of doing a shutoff of the monitor, it
made the desktop turn back on!!

Now, can anyone give me a solution/help? Like I said, I can't say for
certain if it was doing this with the other monitor or not, I may have just
not noticed it.

Thanks again.
