Default USMT2IMG Files and Settings Transfer Wizard

I backed up my settings using this wizard. The file type should be a DAT
file. When I click properties on the file is says TYPE of FILE: InterVideo
Media file. I tried to rename it to USMT2IMG.DAT but that didn't change the
file type. How do I change this so it is a DAT type of file?

Robert J. Rando,
You do not need to do anything to change the extension. The extension is
DAT but the reason why it shows "TYPE of FILE: InterVideo Media file" is
because you have assigned this program to open this type of file by default.

InterVideo obviously reserved the DAT file type for itself. However,
this should not break the Backup wizard. See "How to Use Files and
Settings Transfer Wizard" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=293118).
