Hi all,
I often met with the following akward situation which I hated a lot: I am doing some work and opening 30+ of windows including 20+ browser windows... Often times I have to reboot, for example, in these a few days, the Windows update downloaded some auto-update and requires for rebooting... I have to close and save my works and my 30+ windows one by one and after rebooting open them again one by one... Is there a way that these processes can be automated? Thanks a lot! |

Doubtful, at least for all programs and windows. If you always open
the same files/documents/programs, you could always automate the process with .bat files or the like. But this is just a rough approxiamation of what you want. As far as open webbrowsers, via Firefox you could quickly and easily bookmark all the currently open tabs, and just as quickly reload them all after the restart. Sorry I can't give you any better advice. Download www.avantbrowser.com
You can make groups of sites and store them (this is like groups of favorites) and you can go to FILE > Save all pages and exit. This is the best browser in my opinion, it is based on the IE engine, but that is a plus in my opinion. (I can hear the firefox fans breathing down my neck as I type this). Try this program. It will not help on shutdown but will launch anything you
want. http://www.outertech.com/index.php?_...e=product&id=1 Bob "networm" <networm8848@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:O7s0ZGlDGHA.1288@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... > Hi all, > > I often met with the following akward situation which I hated a lot: > > I am doing some work and opening 30+ of windows including 20+ browser > windows... > > Often times I have to reboot, for example, in these a few days, the > Windows update downloaded some auto-update and requires for rebooting... > > I have to close and save my works and my 30+ windows one by one and after > rebooting open them again one by one... > > Is there a way that these processes can be automated? > > Thanks a lot! > |

Open a folder and go tools>view.
If the option box appears saying "Restore previous folders at logon" or similar try that, see if it helps with part of the problem.
