I have posted on this before , and after all the help i have recieved from
various sources, still cant get the damn thing to be recognised by windows, after many hours trying differnet things , and i have tried it in another pc belonging to a friend, it does same thing , plug it in and get " usb device not recognised" when i investigate under device manager, it says no drivers are installed, but i am on widows xp, i shouldnt need drivers, the drivers on the cd are for windows 98, so i think this is the problem, why is windows xp needing for drivers for this device ? |

Hi,
If you tried it on another machine and it does the same thing, then the problem is the device - not the system. It may be defective. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Associate Expert - WindowsXP Expert Zone www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "poppy" <poppy@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:97B8E02C-3546-40F2-8C8C-0D981E0225B2@microsoft.com... >I have posted on this before , and after all the help i have recieved from > various sources, still cant get the damn thing to be recognised by > windows, > after many hours trying differnet things , and i have tried it in another > pc > belonging to a friend, it does same thing , plug it in and get " usb > device > not recognised" when i investigate under device manager, it says no > drivers > are installed, but i am on widows xp, i shouldnt need drivers, the drivers > on > the cd are for windows 98, so i think this is the problem, why is windows > xp > needing for drivers for this device ? |
