When I do a repair using the WinXP cd, all goes well until the restart.
Windows starts in Safe Mode (even if I tell it to start in Normal mode) and Win XP Setup cannot run in Safe Mode. So then the whole process begins again with the same result. How can I do a repair in this situation? -- Thanks, John B |

How can I do a repair in this situation? Andrew, it's time to give it a rest. This latest post of yours sounds like you've been having too many adult beverages - or something. John B - Why did you feel you needed to do a Repair Install in the first place? What problems were you having? A Repair Install will not cure serious operating system ills and apparently it didn't cure the ones you had. However, without knowing more details you can't get focused troubleshooting. Here's a link that will help you with what information to include in your next post: http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm Then come back with all pertinent details so we can get started helping you. Be aware that a repair install will not remove or fix problems due to installed software and malware. Steve N. |
