What is it you're trying to do? I doubt anyone can help you with your add/remove programs list - we can't see it from here. Are you having problems uninstalling software? It's not hard to remove items from the uninstall list from the registry, but that doesn't uninstall the software - it just prevents it from showing up. If you're trying to clean up your machine of junk, you may wish to repost with more detail. |

You were presented with several alternatives but the best solution really depends on what happened in the first place which you haven't specified. I would suggest you go back to the original thread and continue in there. There is no good tool for what you want. If the programs are orphaned, then you need to delete the program files, then search through the registry for their entries and delete hoping you don't create more problems in the process. Make sure you have a backup of the registry before making changes. ERUNT is a good tool for that: http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/ http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-on...runt/erunt.txt Installing and Using ERUNT http://www.silentrunners.org/sr_eruntuse.html http://www.winxptutor.com/regback.htm In the meantime: Removing Invalid Entries in the Add/Remove Programs Tool http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310750 Locations in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall [David Candy] There are other keys. Some things exist in two places. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Pro ducts HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products And the above get built here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\App Management\ARPCache Also go to Kelly's site: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm Click on the "A" and scroll down to Add / Remove programs for more help. -- Rock MS MVP Windows - Shell/User |
