Please help thank. 1. Make sure you are using a new 80-wire ribbon cable to the 80GB drive and not just using the old cable that was attached to the 20GB drive. If swapping out the cable fixes the issue, you're done. 2. Check the jumpers on the new drive. Is it set to master? More details will help you get more focused answers. Please help thank. How old is your computer? Is the computer motherboard capable of supporting hard drives of this size? Many motherboards from 5 or 6 years ago (when 20 gb drives were common) are not capable of recognizing drives larger than 32 gb. Check the documentation that came with your computer or post a reply back here with the computer and motherboard information. Good luck Ron Martell Duncan B.C.
