Disk cleanup (Cleanmgr) freezes dead

I try to run Cleanmgr and on my main drive it freezes and will not procede
no matter how long I wait.
It works fine on my other drive.
Tried Safe mode, same thing.
Plus I have to discontinue the process in Task Manager after I try to use it
on my main drive because it really slows my computer down for any subsequent
operations.
I an hoping its not corrupted...fixes anybody?
