Default Norton antivirus 2006

My new 2006 Norton antivirus is not blocking ads. When I double click to
turn on add blocking I am told I do not have the necessary rights to
configure the item I have double clicked. It is a personal computer and I am
the only one using it. 2005 version worked just fine. There must be a way
to fix this--any help would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to have to
pay Symantec to solve this problem.

Thanks!

It's a Symantec issue, contact their tech support.

I wouldn't consider paying Symantec to fix your problem. Go to the link
below and use the live chat to talk to a tech support person free. I've had
pretty good success getting help there.
