I accepted the hard drive (c) configuration of a new computer. In Computer
Management the 0 drive includes the C drive and a drive, 7G large which is a Healthy EISA configuration. Could I use the 7G drive ? |

Is this a HP/Compaq computer?
This might be a Recovery partition and it is best left alone!!! Check with HP if applicable!! "Louis Miller" wrote: > I accepted the hard drive (c) configuration of a new computer. Hi,
I suspect that you mean EIDE, not EISA (the former is Enhanced Integrated Drive Electronics, the latter I have not a clue). I also suspect that the 7GB volume is a recovery partition that should be left alone. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Associate Expert - WindowsXP Expert Zone www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Louis Miller" <lmmill@ix.netcom.com> wrote in message news:OaFXivzDGHA.2380@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... >I accepted the hard drive (c) configuration of a new computer. Extension to the ISA bus that extension cards plugged into before PCI (and before USB). Competitor to IBM's MCA bus. This person is talking about a HD!!!
Not a bus slot design!!! I saw a Compaq that had Labeled the HD a EISA Healthy partition!! It must be some sort of Recovery partition. I believe it was a hidden partition and could only be seen in Disk Management. "Louis Miller" wrote: > I accepted the hard drive (c) configuration of a new computer. How soon I forget....<argh>, completely slipped my mind, but I'm certain the
OP meant EIDE in this instance. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Associate Expert - WindowsXP Expert Zone www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Tim Slattery" <Slattery_T@bls.gov> wrote in message news:ivfir1ddu5dua03fmjc6hhbq8hp8bma19c@4ax.com... > "Rick \"Nutcase\" Rogers" <rick@mvps.org> wrote: > >>Hi, >> >>I suspect that you mean EIDE, not EISA (the former is Enhanced Integrated >>Drive Electronics, the latter I have not a clue). > > EISA=Enhanced Industry Standard Architecture bus. I have seen HP computers with the Recovery Partition called an EISA
partition in Disk Management. http://www.experts-exchange.com/Storage/Q_21648233.html -- William "Rick "Nutcase" Rogers" <rick@mvps.org> wrote in message news:e4Aet6%23DGHA.2424@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > How soon I forget....<argh>, completely slipped my mind, but I'm certain > the OP meant EIDE in this instance. > > -- > Best of Luck, > > Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP > http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ > Associate Expert - WindowsXP Expert Zone > www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone > Windows help - www.rickrogers.org > > "Tim Slattery" <Slattery_T@bls.gov> wrote in message > news:ivfir1ddu5dua03fmjc6hhbq8hp8bma19c@4ax.com... >> "Rick \"Nutcase\" Rogers" <rick@mvps.org> wrote: >> >>>Hi, >>> >>>I suspect that you mean EIDE, not EISA (the former is Enhanced Integrated >>>Drive Electronics, the latter I have not a clue). >> >> EISA=Enhanced Industry Standard Architecture bus.
