I wrote before about not installing to 2 drives on a P2B Motherboard. I
figured out that the one drive I was using a 40GB drive was no good. I put in others and they worked fine. But I tried a WD 120GB drive and it would not work either it started to boot and stuck where it said detecting HDD Primary Master...[Press F4 to skip] F4 doesn't work when it goess there it is set to auto in CMOS and it will not recognize it when i do a check. Any ideas? My 120 couldn't be screwed also could it they are different companies and sizes 120-40GB Western Digital 120 & Seagate Barracuda 40GB Thanks Bruce |

One of the drives has to be a master and the other a slave? The Windows CD
is bootable, so that is how the installation and format of your hard drive will be accomplished. <HD MFG> That is Hard Drive right?
It happened with two different Hard drives Western Digital & Seagate Barracuda... Could it be a CMOS Setting not right? How would I check that? If the HD is not recognised in Bios then either its failed or you havent
connected/jumpered it correctly Using different manu.hd's doesnt matter. Thanx for reply If you have tried two different, known-healthy hard drives in your computer and they are not being seen and/or you cannot install Windows, AND the drives are correctly jumpered, AND you are using a new and correct 80-pin ribbon cable, then the fault is on the motherboard. Get a new motherboard. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User |

Also review the jumpers on the "now to be master" drive,(master w/slave)
for WD drives. Me2Ewe wrote: > <HD MFG> That is Hard Drive right? > It happened with two different Hard drives Western Digital & Seagate > Barracuda... Could it be a CMOS Setting not right?
