Default Same SID

Hi

One of my clients have a NT domain with mostly XP clients (some 2000 and
NT4). The clients are cloned from a few different images so many of them
have the same SID. This havent been a problem in the NT4 domain.

Now we are about to migrate to 2003 AD.
Are we facing big trouble here??
or..
Can we migrate to 2003 without changing the SID?
or
Do we have to change SIDs before migration or after?

What kind of poorly designed imaging utility doesn't include a means of
assigning a unique SID to each new image?

That's a little hard to believe, to be frank. I've seen all sorts of
complications from having duplicate SIDs on an NT domain. How'd your
client work around it?

I would certainly expect so.

Only if the domain isn't used for any business-critical purposes.

Before is a lot safer.

Get newsid from Systernals.com and run it on every client computer prior to
joining the domain. DO NOT RUN IT ON THE DOMAIN CONTROLLER.
