I've found four damaged .dll files and cannot go through Safe Mode to scan
for spyware as another suggested I do. (I was told these files were spyware elsewhere, but if essentioal Windows files are damaged, Safe Mode will not work. As this was the case, apparently they are not all spyware.) These following are the damaged files: MediaPassX.dll CPCScan.dll IUCTL.dll YSBActiveX.dll How to I get these back? The MediaPassX were done within a Dowloaded Program File. The IUCTL.dll is among the Windows\System 32\ files! This definitely NOT spyware. Please help me to replace these damaged files. |

Hi
Try running the following command from Start>Run first: sfc /scannow You may need to have your XP CD to hand. YSBActiveX.dll - would also suggest a Downloaded Program File - if it's not spyware. -- Will Denny MS MVP Windows Shell/User Please reply to the News Groups "Dragonfly_961" <Dragonfly961@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1292881E-1E99-4EF9-9D23-E547DD66466E@microsoft.com... > I've found four damaged .dll files and cannot go through Safe Mode to scan > for spyware as another suggested I do. It should reinstall the software if there are problems. Good luck Ron Martell Duncan B.C. Canada -- Microsoft MVP (1997 - 2006) On-Line Help Computer Service http://onlinehelp.bc.ca |
