I have a new Dell computer with Windows XP SP2 factory installed. When I try
to access the Windows Update site, the computer checks for new updates for a minute or so and then I get the error message "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view" along with error code 0x8024001D. I can't download any updates and I also can't post a new message on this forum. I can post a reply to an existing message, but can't post a new topic. I am on another computer right now so I can post here. On my XP computer, I am running the Windows firewall and Symantec virus protection and both are enabled when trying to access the updates. Any suggestions on resolving both problems? Thank you for any help. |

I should also add that I am on dialup connection and using Earthlink
Accelerator, if that makes any difference. Thanks. "Nelda" wrote: > I have a new Dell computer with Windows XP SP2 factory installed.
