Default asked to reactivate AGAIN...

g'day and hny to all from oz...

i'm a generally satisfied xp pro (sp2, fully uptodate) user at home.

however, a number of times lately, i've been prompted to reactivate windows
because it's 'changed' significantly since the original install.

the latest reactivation (today) sent a message that the product had been
reactivated too many times and needed the product key reentered.

i have no problem going through this but is this continual reactivation
reasonable (every two or three months it seems to occur)?

thanks in advance!

negative...

last hardware change was to add a wireless modem card months ago.

i should add that i use norton's av 2006 and sygate's freeware firewall -
both have been on the machine for some time while the latest reactivate
request came up today. i use the same firewall and av software on another
(newer) machine at home as well, which has no similar reactiation issues.

That is strange..........looks like we need one of the 'gurus' on this.
Post back with the resolution when you find it, I am very curious about the
cause.
Heirloom, old and not a clue
