Default Free sleep timer for pc?

I'm looking for a free sleep timer for my PC. I like to listen to mp3s
as I go to sleep and I'd like some program to turn off my computer at a
designated time. Anything out there?

I tried it. A black dialogue box pops up at the specified time then
goes away and nothing happens. Did I do something wrong?

Just a SWAG, but, yeah, you may have done something wrong. ;-)

Look over the article again and see what you have done incorrectly or what
you may have left out.

Ok I have two questions with these instructions:

>>> * In the Select Program to Schedule dialog box, locate the

%SystemRoot%\System32 folder, locate and click the Shutdown.exe file,
and then click Open.

I didn't find anything with the %SystemRoot% but I did find the
System32 folder in the Windows folder and found a Shutdown.exe file. Is
that the one I want or is there another one. They aren't specific on
what folder this file exists in.

>>>> * Type the user name and password to run this task under, and

then click Next.

What user name and password? I don't have one set up on my computer so
I just made one up. The computer told me it might not work because it
doesn't recognize the username.

To know exactly what %SystemRoot% is type or paste it into Start | Run and
see what opens.

%SystemRoot% is usually C:\WINDOWS so %SystemRoot%\System32 would be the
same as C:\WINDOWS\System32. %SystemRoot% could also be D:\WINDOWS or
C:\WINNT. %SystemRoot% is used when we do not know what you actually have
and it also works in place of what you actually have. As you may have seen
if you typed it in Start | Run. And yes you selected the proper
Shutdown.exe file.

You are supposed to have a password for your account for scheduling tasks,
however there is a registry tweak to get around that.

So you have to either set your account up with a password or use the
registry tweak.

See this (Includes the warning)...
